This sermon concludes our study through James. We have said many times along the way that James is a very practical book. Yes, there is plenty of theology in this letter. But in the end, this book is about putting our faith in action. It’s not enough just to say we believe in Jesus; we also need to do what Jesus says. But now as he closes, James has one last thing he wants us to know – namely, that we can’t do it alone. Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo mission. Instead, God set it up so that we need to help each other.
