There is a lot of confusion these days about the role of fathers. Some think that a dad’s job is be the “fun parent” while mom does all the work. Others think that a dad’s job is to make money for the family. Still others think that dads aren’t that important at all — that they are optional or maybe even unnecessary in a child’s life. But what does the Bible say? In this sermon, we turn to a short but powerful passage near the end of Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church. Through a series of five commands, Paul stakes out a biblical view of manhood that informs our understanding of a father’s role in the family.

Text = 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
