If we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not at all by the works that we do (Ephesians 2:8-9), then why do we need works? It’s nice to be helpful and all; sometimes it even makes us feel good to help other people. But when push comes to shove and helping others is going to cost us, what good are good deeds? This is the central question of the Epistle of James, and in this introductory sermon we begin to unravel the essential connection between our faith and our works.
Text = James 1:1-4.
